Abstract:Based on the traditional engineering design framework, designers rarely consider social-technical factors in the early stage of tool product design. The actual problems when users completing specific tasks to achieve material processing are easy to lead to design iteration. By integrating different design methods, such as Situation Decomposition method, Task Analysis method, FBS model (FBS, function-behavior-structure), etc., a design task -driven product innovation design process model is established for tool products. In the design stage, Integrating research on user information can improve product performance, optimize user experience and reduce design iterations. The tool product innovation design process model is divided into three stages: design task identification, design task analysis and design plan generation. Firstly, the Situation Decomposition method is combined with the Task Analysis method and the Functional Decomposition is introduced to quantify and determine the design task; Then the FBS model is studied from the social-technical factor and the technical factor, the functional model is utilized to analyze design task, introducing the time parameter to obtain the task meta-time model; constructing the design plan generation process model based on the task meta in the design stage to determine the final design. Taking the jig saw as an example, the application of the innovative design process model is studied to improve the efficiency of product innovation design and enrich the research theory of design-driven product innovation.
