Abstract:With the continuous growth of the number of motor vehicles in China, the existing urban road resources can no longer meet the traffic demand. Many cities are upgrading the existing roads, and frequent road construction has had a huge impact on urban traffic operation. Aiming at the characteristics of urban road structure, a traffic impact assessment method suitable for urban arterial work zones is proposed. Combined with the characteristics of intermittent flow facilities of urban roads, the concept of equivalent capacity is applied to give the traffic impact evaluation index of equivalent saturation urban arterial work zones. Based on the improved BPR model, Based on the improved BPR model, a travel time calculation model suitable for urban roads is given, and gives the evaluation method of the reliability evaluation index of the travel time; comprehensively considers the average delay, equivalent saturation, and the reliability evaluation index of the travel time, and proposes a comprehensive evaluation method for the traffic impact of urban arterial work zones. The three different dimensions of "line" and "surface" give the traffic impact evaluation threshold of urban arterial work zones; combined with the traffic impact evaluation threshold, the process of determining the traffic impact scope of urban arterial work zones is given. The simulation results show that the traffic impact assessment method for construction area based on equivalent traffic capacity established in this paper solves the problem that the existing methods are difficult to calculate and difficult to apply in practice, and gives specific traffic impact assessment thresholds at different levels, overcoming the defect that traditional methods only determine the traffic impact assessment threshold from a single level.
