Abstract:In recent years, nano-graphene has caused a new upsurge in the field of tribology. Graphene has unique physical and chemical properties, ultra-thin interlayer structure and excellent self-lubricating properties. As a lubricating additive, graphene can significantly improve the tribological properties of the body. In this paper, the research progress of nano-graphene as solid lubricant, water-based lubricating additive and oil-based lubricating additive and composite with other nanoparticles as lubricating additive is reviewed. the anti-friction and antiwear mechanisms of graphene, such as protective film, low surface energy, self-lubrication and composite materials are summarized. The problems existing in nano-graphene are pointed out, for example, different amounts of graphene have great influence on the anti-wear and friction reduction of the solution, and the layer number and structure of graphene are important factors affecting the anti-wear and friction reduction of the body. The future research direction of graphene is prospected.
