Abstract:The structural progressive collapse has always been the focus of attention in the field of civil engineering, and once the beam-column joints, as the key parts of the structural system load transfer , breaks down the structural system might collapse progressively. Meanwhile, there will be immeasurable economic losses and casualties. This paper briefly reviews the two different forms of structural progressive collapse and four design methods of progressive collapse resistance And then based on the existing research results, considering three issues including the model of progressive collapse resistance, the mechanism of progressive collapse resistance, the performance of progressive collapse resistance, the state-of-the-art of progressive collapse caused by the failure of the beam-column joint is summarized. The research progress of prefabricated beam-column joints and self-centering beam-column joints is described from the perspective of experimental research and numerical analysis. Finally, a new type of self-centering beam-column joint based on superelastic shape memory alloy is proposed, and the design method, collapse resistance and seismic performance are discussed.
