Abstract:As a national strategy, the increasing and extensive reports of the Coordinated Development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei are presented in the mass media, especially in newspaper. In order to accurately grasp the regularities and characteristics of the topics in newspaper reports, correlation analysis of the contents in the large-scale texts is conducted from the temporal dimension. Adopted the combined methods of mathematical statistics, topic models, topic correlation, and text analysis, the newspaper reports of the Coordinated Development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei from 2014 to 2020 in the mainstream domestic newspaper were used to investigate the topic distribution, topic intensity and topic correlation. The topic relevance and evolution was analyzed in a case study of "Coordinated Development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Cultural and Tourism Industry". The results show that the topics of reports are diversified and the regularities in the time distribution of reports are in line with important national events. It is found that there are ten major topics, including policy publicity, industrial transfer, transportation integration, etc., which indicates that the distribution of the topical framework of reports is consistent with the key points of national policies. The validity of the methodology employed in this study for the news text analysis of national strategies is also revealed.
