Abstract:The Qinzhou District of Tianshui is with a special geographical location, where geological hazards dominated by landslides occur frequently, which is seriously threatening the lives and property safety of local residents. In order to effectively alleviate the threat from geological hazards’ further expansion, an overall investigation of the types, distribution, structural characteristics and factors of geological hazards in North hill of the Distrcit was made, and of which the stability, hazard ways and potential economic losses were evaluated, combining the research from former scholars on landslides, unstable slopes and debris flows in this area. Focusing on the special formation conditions and development characteristics of various hazards, an effectual management plan of engineering control, partial relocation and detection alarm, which is closely engaging with the urban development plan, was proposed. The implement of this plan could not only guarantee the safety of personnel and materials in the area, but also create harmonious and stable business environment, which provided fundamental support and service for the urban development and economic construction of Qinzhou District.
