Discussing the application of fuzzy clustering analysis to product family design, which is the key to mass customization design. According to the 3 states of product development defined by axiomatic design theory, how to distinguish customer requirements, recognize platform elements, and compartmentalize modular product platform by clustering analysis are illustrated.
