The network topology measurement into two classes: network layer topology measurement and data link layer topology measurement is categorized. Then an in-depth study make of the application of SNMP protocol in network layer topology measurement, and how to construct the network topology by u-sing SNMP protocol are described in detail. Also, the algorithm of network topology measurement based on SNMP protocol is presented.
