Based on the characteristics and hazards of tunnel fires, the testing methods, fireproof theory, construction and application of the fire coatings for tunnels and present research situation at home and abroad are reviewed. The problem in producing, including the different between China and advanced countries are point out. It indicates that the development and use of fire coating for tunnels receives recognition worldwide, and advise that how to improve and develop fire coating for tunnels.
