The traditional single-stage PID is only suitable for simple linear objects with single variables, not for such complex multivariable, nonlinear systems as ball plate systems. Based on the study of the physical model of ball plate system, a ball plate control system based on cascade PID is proposed. The position and speed of the ball as feedback quantity at the same time, the simultaneous control of two variables is realized, and the hardware structure of ball plate system is designed for practical verification. The test shows that the proposed ball plate control system has short regulation time, small overshoot and small error, and has certain anti-interference ability.
