Abstract:In order to investigate the tribological properties and anti-adhesion properties of graphene as a lubricating oil additive under high temperature condition, a four-ball friction and wear tester was used to conduct friction and wear experiments on graphene-based base oil. Graphene was characterized by XRD and the comparisons among lubricants of base oil without and with additive of different mass fractions were carried out. The results show that the addition of graphene to the lubricating oil can significantly improve the tribological properties and anti-adhesion properties of the friction pair under high temperature condition. When the mass fraction is 0.03%, the friction coefficient is reduced by about 22.5%, the wear spot diameter is reduced by about 48.9%, and the anti-adhesion time is increased by about 44.9%.
