Abstract:Tectonic inversion is the characteristic structure of Xihu Sag East China Sea Shelf Basin, and obviously segmented from north to south, the “Y- type” structure in the northern part, the middle kink band structure in the middle, high angle imbricate inversion structures in the southern part. Three groups of structural physical modelling experiment are designed to considerate the formation process and control factors. The experiment results show that the various tectonic inversion from north to South was controlled by different boundary conditions, weak boundary conditions in the northern and southern segment, rigid boundary condition in the middle segment. Furthermore, the distance between extrusion boundary and pre-existing normal fault plays obvious influence on the inversion structural styles. The farther pre-existing normal fault is away from the extrusion boundary, the closer the inversion anticline is away from the pre-existing fault; conversely, the farther.
