Abstract:The pressure prediction of Carbonate formation is of difficulties in research, the main reason is the P-wave velocity response characteristics are not clear, the traditional model can not be used. To solve this technical problem, this paper response characteristics were studied through laboratory experiments designed to carbonate rocks P-wave velocity, discussed the main factors influencing the P-wave velocity changes, the Carbonate rock skeleton speed depends on the rock’s characteristics, determines the trends P-wave velocity, small changes in P-wave velocity is caused by the pressure. Verify the carbonate rocks abnormally high pressure of geophysical response characteristics of the theory of elasticity and porosity, from the perspective of laboratory tests to establish the accuracy of the theory of elasticity based on pore velocity equations were verified, establishment of carbonate formation pore pressure prediction models provided.
