Abstract:Methods for car-pedestrian accident reconstruction can be classified into three categories: simple methodologies based on mathematical analysis method, empirical model based on semi-analytical approach, three-dimensional Multi-Body(MB) models based on the PC-Crash and Madymo softwares. Datum have been provided by national automobile accident in-depth investigation system (e.g. Braking traces, vehicle damage, pedestrian injury, throwing distance, vehicle shape, pedestrian anthropometry, etc) . Results of Collision speed and throwing distance have been compared in terms of quality of the reconstruction balanced by the limitation of the different methods. The final location of pedestrians, kinematics process, car-pedestrian collision zone and pedestrian injury have been detailed analyzed based on three-dimensional Multi-Body(MB) models. In this way, the potentiality of the methods, their requirements (necessary input data, into operation bringing time, computer time) have been evaluated and reported in a general matrix.
