On the basis of the commonly used antenna pattern measurement method, this paper takes the size of a large array antenna into consideration, and designs a set of array antenna pattern testing method in an outdoor test field. According to this method, the array antenna pattern of a particular model of aircraft is firstly tested. Then the radiation pattern of the pitch surface is measured and compared with the theoretical simulation results thus proving the accuracy of the experimental program. Finally, the experimental error is analyzed.
