Abstract: The damage in the earthquake of bridge project, as one of the lifeline engineering, will make the disaster-relief work after earthquake difficult and enhance the secondary disasters. Taking effective seismic measures is the main method to reduce the damage of bridge in earthquakes. The Purpose of this paper is to introduce the " reinforced concrete support steel plate-rubber friction energy dissipation" devices into the bridge project to effectively relief variety of losses caused by earthquake. This paper will respectively perform finite element analysis to the steel plate - rubber friction energy dissipation device and the combination of laminated rubber bearings and sliding plate rubber bearings. Use the calculating results to verify the reducing and isolating effect of the bridge structure with the application of this combination of isolation. The effect of reduction and isolation is especially effective when the bridge is under the action of pulse seismic waves or its pier is high or it is in three, four sites.
