Abstract: The rank function of a matroid which determined by a polymatroid function is studied. Firstly, the notion of matroid determined by a submodular function is introduced, and the expression of rank function of a polymatroid function is presented. Then, two properties of polymatroid function f are proved. Finally, the independent set and the representation of rank function of matroid are discussed.
