A pilot-scale test of High-load Activated Aludge（HAS） process treating municipal wastewater was operated in Qingyang city.According to different removal extent and mechanisms of HAS process treating dissolved organic matter and particle organic matter, a empirical formula is put forward to calculate aeration volume for HAS process. The empirical formula can provide references for engineering design and theory research.
