General airport is an important carrier of general aviation activities. The study of its spatial structure is of great significance to the development of general aviation. The results show that Wilson model and ArcGIS spatial analysis tools are used to analyze the geospatial structure of the general airport system in the southwest of the United States from three aspects: the strength of regional general aviation resources, the comprehensive capacity and attractiveness of general airports.It is found that the general aviation resource intensity is higher in the east than in the west, which is consistent with the distribution of natural resources in the population economy.The core-edge distribution pattern of general airport based on comprehensive capacity is more obvious, showing the phenomenon of club convergence.Based on the attraction, the general airport has a high degree of agglomeration and uneven spatial distribution, which is mainly concentrated in the densely populated areas of the metropolitan area, the metropolitan area and the gulf coast industrial area.The distribution of general airports is consistent with the performance of regional market demand. Based on economy and population, the aviation activity of general airports in metropolitan areas is significantly higher than that in other regions.
