Abstract:The vulnerability evaluation of geological disasters is the preliminary work of prevention and control of regional disasters. The construction of a disaster assessment system in accordance with the regional geological environment plays a decisive role in the accuracy of the evaluation results and the applicability of the region. After the investigation and analysis of regional geological disasters, eight influencing factors, such as rainfall, slope and lithology, were selected to evaluate the vulnerability of geological disasters in Panzhou City by using the information model. The results show that the geological disasters in Panzhou City are mainly distributed along the river coast, near the roads and faults, and the susceptible and high disaster-prone areas were distributed in bands, accounting for 38.62% of the land area of Panzhou City. With the vulnerability increasing, to rise the number of disaster points distributed in each region, and to grow gradually the percentage of the geological hazards sites of the whole area, which indicates that the evaluation results are consistent with the actual situation of geological disaster distribution in the study area, and the division is reasonable. The results of this study can provide a reference for disaster prevention and control in Panzhou City.
