For the different contribution rate of sensors to sound source positioning, an array optimization research based on HBT interference positioning is carried out in the paper. Firstly, according to the principle of HBT interference positioning, the sound positioning theoretical model of 8-element linear sensor array is established. Secondly, Taking the array positioning error within 1% as the target, the topology simulating optimization of the 8-element linear sensor array has been carried out, and five 4-element linear sensor arrays have been obtained. Finally, the experiment verifies that the positioning error of 2 of the 5 kinds of four-element linear sensor arrays obtained by simulation optimization is within 1%. Finally, the experiment verifies that the positioning errors of two 4-element linear sensor arrays which is from the five obtained from the simulating optimization is within 1%. By studying the topology optimization of sensor array, it can reduce the number of sensors and ensure the same positioning performance of sound source, thus reducing the complexity of array signal processing.
