The key problem in General Land Use Planning is how to work out the environmental problem for the sustainable utilization of land resources. The author tried to study the technical method of Environmental Assessment of General Land Use Planning, by the method of landscape pattern change analysis and ecological suitability assessment. According to the function of GIS for map layers piling, this study evaluated the ecological suitability of industry land. By choosing the guiding and restricting indexes, the eco-suitability evaluation index system of industry land in Pudong New Area was built. After digitalizing each evaluation factor and transferring to GRID type, the ecological suitability of industry land was evaluated in the field calculator in Arcgis10 by weighted piling method.
