Abstract:Rutting and water damage are tapical types of the damages which ordinarily happen on large longitudinal slope of asphalt pavement. In order to investigate the mechanical behavior under high temperature on large longitudinal slope of asphalt pavement in South China, this paper put Guangzhou-Lechang highway as an example. The author analyzed the compression strain and maximum shear of three tapical different pavement structures in the period of the engineering feasibility study to Guangzhou-Lechang highway. Finally, the autor arrived at a conclusion that three-layer high modulus asphalt pavement structure was in favor of improving the anti-rutting and anti-water damage capabilities of asphalt pavement. At the same time, for overloading downslope asphalt pavement, the autor proposed to apply OGFC as wearing layer to effectively decrease the water damages, for example, slots.
